Transit Time Ultrasonic Flow Meters (TTUFM) are a type of flow meter that measures the flow rate of a fluid by using the time difference between ultrasonic signals traveling in the direction of flow and against the direction of flow.
It is mainly used to measure liquid, such as ultra-pure liquid, chemical, raw sewage, reclaimed water, cooling water, river water, plant sewage, etc.
Working Principle
1.Ultrasonic Pulses: The meter sends ultrasonic pulses through the fluid in both the downstream (with the flow) and upstream (against the flow) directions.
2.Time Measurement: The time it takes for the ultrasonic pulse to travel from the transmitter to the receiver is measured for both directions.
3.Time Difference: The difference in travel times between the downstream and upstream pulses is directly proportional to the velocity of the fluid.
4.Flow Calculation: Using the measured time difference and the known distance between the transducers, the flow velocity can be calculated. The flow rate is then determined by multiplying the flow velocity by the cross-sectional area of the pipe.
